I’m New!

Welcome! On Sundays we gather together to do two things – worship God in community and be equipped through teaching to love and follow Jesus Christ. Our vision is to nurture a life of worship which is deep and engaging – for all ages. We are one body, but we worship God in different ways. We are grateful for the gift of variety. We hope that within our service pattern you will find a place where you can worship passionately! Our services follow this pattern:

9:15 am – Grab and Go Coffee Bar

From the moment you walk in the door you will be greeted and offered coffee, we all find it easier to talk around coffee.

9:30 am – Sunday School and ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship)

In Acts 2 the early church “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship…”  As a result the church saw growth as they went deeper with the Lord and each other.  Our Adult Bible Fellowship classes are intended to provide opportunities for growth in teaching and fellowship, both of which are necessary for personal and community growth.   We also provide Sunday School for all our children so they can grow in their understanding of God’s Word as well.  Come join us as we grow deeper.

10:30 am – Morning Worship

On Sunday mornings the GLCC family gathers to worship God together. During this time we sing praises to God, pray together, hear God’s word taught, and once a month remember Jesus through the act of taking the Lord’s Supper. These gatherings are life-giving and welcoming to all.

Our Sunday gathering is designed to be simple and straightforward.  You’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with contemporary worship music and a practical, relevant message. Each week there are songs, prayer, announcements, a Bible reading (we have Bibles you can use to follow along) and a message about the passage that is read. You’ll also find a printed outline for notes in your bulletin that will help you make the most of each week’s teaching. Before church there is a chance to grab a tea or coffee and after the service many people stick around for some more.

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for a while! Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and see if this is the church for you. In the pew in front of you, you’ll find a welcome card. Please take a moment to fill it out when you come. Again, don’t worry! We won’t show up at your house with dry banana bread. We simply want to send you a message and let you know how much we appreciate your visit.

Who can come?

Everyone is welcome at Green Lake Calvary Church. You don’t need to be a member or even someone who would call themselves a Christian. At church you will meet people from all walks of life – kids, students, young adults, families and beyond. What sort of church is Green Lake Calvary Church? We’re a gathering of regular people from all walks of life who want to love Jesus and love the Green Lake community. We are not involved with a particular denomination but are a part of the IFCA (Independent Fundamental Churches of America). We read the Bible as God’s word for us and we want to share its life changing message with the city around us. Some of the more technical words people might use to describe our church are evangelical, reformed and missional.

As you get to know us better, you will discover that we come from different backgrounds but are united by our love for God, our desire to learn more about the Bible and our willingness to serve others.

Whether you are a spiritual seeker who is just starting to ask questions about God or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at GLCC.
